Decorating a cookie cake is a great way to make people smile and cheer on Christmas Day, says Máirín Ó Tuimháin, the founder of the Cooley House Cookie Bakery in the south Dublin city centre.
“It is a fun and festive treat to make and it is very easy to assemble.
The best part is that you can decorate the cake at home too, and I’ve been doing this for over 10 years,” she said.
She said that people would be more likely to buy a cake when they could have it delivered to their house, which is a popular option.
“They are less likely to order it online, because they are used to having a delivery and it would take a lot of time to put the cake on the table,” she explained.
“Also, if you are a holiday-makers, then it is a bit of a gamble to have a cake that you will not enjoy the rest of the day, but you will be a bit happier and feel better.”
Máirí Ó Cuiláin is a member of the Irish Travel Industry Association.
She has worked in the hospitality sector for almost 20 years and is passionate about her work.
“I love working in restaurants, and when I’m in Dublin I enjoy visiting my favourite places and enjoying myself,” she concluded.
The Irish Travel industry is a significant contributor to the economy and supports more than 30,000 people in their careers, said Ms Tuimhuin.
