The housewarming ritual was created by two groups of people, including one group who wanted to decorate the house with a tree.
They chose the perfect tree for a front door that looked like it was hanging off a cliff.
“The tree has a tree in it and it’s going to be hung from a hook on the tree,” Mr Johnson explains.
“It’s going a bit high and a bit low, and it looks like a tree that’s been hanging from a tree and now it’s been hung on a hook.”
The people behind the project then set about arranging the decorations and lighting them to coincide with the holiday season.
“We took the inspiration from the trees we had seen in the forest in Australia and just tried to find something we could do in the house that felt festive,” he explains.
In a perfect Christmas tradition, the holiday party is also organised with a full-on barbeque.
“You have a barbequer on the front porch and you’re sitting there with a few friends who are all having a good time,” he laughs.
“So you’re not even looking at your phone.”
